Our roots are proudly local — we carry a deep affection for the independent filmmakers of Upstate New York and Western Massachusetts. To honor and elevate the artistry of our region, we’ve created dedicated categories spotlighting these local voices, ensuring their work stands tall on an international stage.

We also believe in nurturing the next generation of storytellers. That’s why we’ve carved out special categories for high school and college filmmakers — empowering emerging talent and giving young creators a platform where their visions are not only seen but celebrated.

Our programming reflects the vast spectrum of stories that short films can tell — narratives that often go unheard, moments that move quietly but deeply, and perspectives that challenge and inspire.
